The UERMMMCI was able to identify and draft five suitable candidates for a scholarship training program under the sponsorship of Nippon Foundation and Cambodia Trust, a leading expert provider of Prosthetics and Orthotics training Programs.
The scholarship contract signing was held last June 29, 2011, between Cambodia Trust-represented by its Project Director, Ms. Helen Cochrane-Sand UERMMMCI-represented by the UERM President, Dr. Romeo Divinagracia.
The five scholarship contracts for Bachelor of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BSPO) were awarded to students Rommel Cruz, Marichelle De Castro, Jerome Lovidad, Anna Luque and Nikolai Santos, all of whom will be sent to Mahidol University in Thailand, where they will study for four years.
The scholars shall enjoy numerous scholarship privileges such as full payment of tuition fees, uniforms, textbooks, dormitory, health insurance and living allowances. The scholarship also includes their travel visas. The five scholars, in turn, pledged to render at least eight years of service as pioneer faculty members of the UERMMMCI-PSPO, after their graduation.
The contract signing was witnessed by College of Physical Therapy's esteemed Dean, Dr. Raquel Cabazor, and by the energetic Dr. Josephine Bundoc. The event was likewise mediated and overseen by Atty. Jonathan Sarte, the UERMMMCI Legal Counsel.
