Dr. Rolando M. Puno, Class 77, College of Medicine, UERMMMCI

The University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Inc. (UERMMMCI) is pleased to recognize Dr. Rolando M. Puno of Class 77 from the College of Medicine, for his remarkable contributions in the development of orthopedic healthcare services, technical diagnosis and therapeutics which have been renowned globally.

Through his various inventions of medical devices for pediatric spine surgery and conditions which are being used today as standard practice, Dr. Puno has placed The Philippines in the world map of orthopedics including the naming of the surgical services unit of Kosair Children’s Hospital in Lousville, Kentucky, USA after him.

Dr. Puno was also awarded as one of the Most Outstanding Alumni in 2007 in recognition of his love and loyalty to his Alma Mater while he continues to inspire the youth with his scholarly works and determination as educator, researcher, scientist and healer.

With the immensity of his recognitions, Dr. Puno never failed to give back to society. The valuable contributions he extended to the financially-challenged Filipino medical students made him most renowned with his genuine altruistic missions.

This distinction similarly earned pride and honor to the UERMMMCI.
