UERMMMCI CAReS FACULTY MEMBER AND STUDENTS RECEIVE OUTSTANDING RESEARCH PAPER
A Faculty memberand selected fifth year students from the UERMMMCI College of Allied Rehabilitation Sciences (CAReS) were given Outstanding Research Paper Awards during the 14th Dr. Fernando Sanchez Annual Research Forum last February 9, 2012.
For Faculty Capital-Paper Presentation, the paper entitled "Parents' Profile and level of Early Intervention in Physical Therapy Services Rendered to Children with Physical Disabilities by Esther Melody R. Nicolas, PTRP, MAeDdetermined that parents perceived family-centered early intervention PT for their child were not provided with sufficient information about the condition and treatment of their child, and are not actively involved in planning of the treatment.
For the Student Paper Presentation, the paper entitled " A Retrospective Cohort Study of Ankle Inversion Sprain and Leg Dominance among Runners by Rachel Ruth C. Koh, Milad C. Shafiei and RayzielleBrenn Z. Villasanta determined that individuals aged 15-32 y/o, weighs 61-90kgs and measures 0-170 cm are prone to having ankle inversion injury during running.
Other awardees were paper entitled " A Randomized Controlled Trial on the Effectiveness of Strain Counter Strain vs. Conventional Management among Patients with Acute Ankle Inversion Sprain by Oscar Borbe,, Irene Lopez, Riza Robles and Kimberly Salamat and "Development of a Comprehensive Evaluation Tool in Affiliation Centers of UERMMMCI College of Physical Therapy Interns" by Gerald Abuedo, BonnaCadorna, Frederick Chua and John Paul Organista were awarded for Student Poster Presentation.
All awardees were given with certificates and cash prize sponsored by the AFUSA.
